An Extract From A visitor's guide to South-West Shropshire

Noth of Asterton, in the north of the parish is Asterton Prolley Moor, and the symmetry of the fields and straightness of the roads in this part of the parish imply the comparative recent enclosure of what was once moorland or common. Shropshire is without a doubt a rural country, and Myndtown is even more rural than the rest of the county. One can be forgiven for forgetting the troubles of the world when the slopes of the Long Mynd are at one's back and the views towards Wales are before you.
